Know How

Proteome Factory is specialized in proteomics, the discovery, identification and validation of biomarkers, biomarker profiles and target proteins by using most modern proteome and protein analytical methods for quantification, identification and characterization of proteins and peptides. State-of-the art methods and techniques in mass spectrometry (nanoLC-ESI-MSMS, MALDI-TOFTOF-MS, high resolution MS, QqQMS), protein and peptide separation like nanoLC and CapLC as well as extreme high resolution 2D gel electrophoresis are routinely used and continuously advanced.
Furthermore Proteome Factory has developed new proteomics methods and techniques of the next proteomics generation like MeCAT - Metal Coded Tagging – Technology, which allows ultra sensitive absolute protein quantification of ‘intact’ proteins down to attomol rang first time. Proteins and peptides are labelled with MeCAT metal reagents which tag biomolecules covalently with metals, especially lanthanides. The ultra sensitive quantification is performed by using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) which has an unrivalled detection limit in the low ppt to ppq range depending on ICP-MS instrument (equivalent to attomol to zeptomol for MeCAT labelled proteins). The extraordinary dynamic linear quantification range of ICP-MS is at least 6 to 8 orders of magnitude. Thus ICP-MS enables a significant more sensitive and accurate quantification in proteomics.

Intellectual Property

Proteome Factory has build up a comprehensive portfolio of intellectual property in the last years which includes several patents, pending patent applications, technological innovations, licences and trademark rights which are continuous expanded.
